The signing of a memorandum of agreement held last April 13 at the Golden Prince Hotel signaled the construction of a one-classroom school building that can accommodate at least 50 Grade 1 pupils of Cabancalan Elementary School in barangay Cabancalan, Mandaue City.
The agreement was signed by Golden Prince Hotel president Benedict Que, executive chairman Jose Antonio Aboitiz of the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) and school principal Aliena Quimque.
Golden Prince Hotel will fund the project, which is worth P340,000, while the PBSP will implement, manage and monitor the project.
The classroom will include a comfort room. School desks and chairs will also be provided by the Mandaue City government.
The project is part of Golden Prince and PBSP's commitment to provide education assistance to the community.
The classroom is set to be completed and turned over to the school before the opening of classes in June.
